Directions: From Chapel Hill or Carrboro, take NC Highway 54 west. Leaving town, pass a shopping center on your left. Henry Anderson Park is on the right. We usually play on the multipurpose field. Drive all the way into the park, it's the last field on the left.
Notes: (1) Times shift roughly with daylight savings time. Tuesday and Thursday are Spring, Summer, and early Fall only, and weekend times shift to 2 pm in Winter. Email the listserv to confirm times. (2) It's competitive pickup, but we are laid back, too. People may show up late--so game could start 1/2 hour late. We take time to teach new folks how to play. (3) Gender rule: To get on, you call last back, but women can call gender to claim a spot if only men are on the line or then gender ratio doesn't match. (4) Carrboro rule: We play dropped pulls. Just call "Carrboro" sheepishly, pick it up, and play it. (5) Weather: The field is elevated, and sheds and soaks up water, so that even an hour of rainstorm earlier in the day often leaves it dry. Scattered thunderstorms are common in our area--and they often scatter away from this field. It can be raining in Chapel Hill and dry at Anderson.
