Q: How can I login to the UPA online membership?
A: As an existing member or to create a brand new account for the UPA, you go to https://www.upa.org/members/login.php to login to an existing account or create a brand new account.  If you have an existing account, your login email and password will be needed.  If you create a new account a password will be emailed to you once you set up the account.  Once online, members may review and edit their membership information, print off their membership status or renew a membership.

Q:  I know I have played with the UPA and been a member in the past but I can’t find my account information online.  How can I get this information so that I can login?
A:  Try entering just the first three letters of both your first and last name.  This will help in case your name is misspelled in the system.  If you still can’t locate your account online, contact info@upa.org for your account information.

Q: When I try to login online, I still cannot access my information. What do I do?
A: If you get locked out of the system or receive an error message email UPA membership division at info@upa.org and indicate the problem. We will re-activate your record and email you the information needed to access your record.

Q: What if I don’t remember my password?
A: Simply go to the member login page at https://www.upa.org/members/login.php and enter the email address you originally used to create an online account and click the "Send a new password" link.  The system will e-mail your password to you.  You should receive it within a few minutes after requesting it.

Q:  What if I have requested a new password but it was never emailed to me?
A:  There could be a couple of reasons why this would happen.  The main reason this can happen is that your email filters out the password emails.  Make sure to check your bulk or junk folders to see if it was filtered here.  Remember that most email accounts are set to clear out your junk and bulk folders after a certain amount of time (generally 24 hours) so you may need to request another password if it has been more than a day since you last requested a password.

Another reason you may not receive your password is if you originally created your online account with a different email address.  You must use the same email login that you used to create the account.  If you no longer have access to that email address then you will need to change your email address to an active one.

Some email accounts may block emails of this nature.  In this situation it may not be possible to retrieve the email.  This happens sometimes with a work or school address.  In this case you may need to use an alternative email address.

Q:  How can I change the email address associated with my login?
A:  If you still have access to your old email address then you can login to your account and change it on your membership page.  If you no longer have access to your old email address, simply email the Membership Director with a request to change your email login.  Make sure to include your name, UPA ID # if you have it, your old email address and the new email address.  This can generally be changed within a day and you will be emailed when it has been updated.

Q:  How can I choose my own password?
A:  To choose your own password you will need to login to your account with the existing email and password, select Edit Your Account Information and select the option to change your password at the top of the page.

Q: I have a tournament this weekend. How can I become a member before then?
A: Individuals may join the UPA online at https://www.upa.org/members/login.php by logging in to their online account and choosing the option to join for the current annual membership.  You will be asked to pay with a credit card through PayPal.  If you are not in a rush you may also print out the membership application available at http://www.upa.org/membership/forms

To complete your membership, all members are asked to complete a general liability waiver signed by the member.  Members under the age of 18 must also have a parent/guardian sign their waiver. Waivers can be found at http://www.upa.org/membership/forms  You can return the waiver to our office at the address on the waiver or you may submit the waiver at the tournament to the TD.

Q:  How can I locate my UPA ID#?
A: Members may access their membership information by logging in to their online account.  Your UPA ID# will also appear on your membership card which you should receive with each annual renewal.  If you can not access your online account and do not have a membership card, you can also email info@upa.org to request that your ID# be emailed to you.  Make sure to include your name and address so that we can identify the correct account.

Q:  Will creating a login register me with the UPA?
A:  Once you have an account with the UPA, you will be assigned a UPA ID# and be registered with the UPA.  Registration is not contingent upon a membership payment.

Q:  How long is a membership for?
A:  The annual dues period is the calendar year, January 1-December 31.  We encourage you to sign up at the beginning of that cycle.  However, all annual memberships will expire on December 31 regardless of when you sign up.  Lifetime memberships last for the life of the member.

Q:  How can I look up my original account start date?

Q:  Will my UPA ID# remain the same year after year?

Q: How can I update my mailing address or other account information?

Q:  How long does it take my online membership account to reflect my current status once I have paid?
A:  Our mail is processed daily.  If you have mailed in your membership application and waiver, your account will be updated the day that we receive your payment.  If you have paid for your membership with a credit card online it may take 1-3 days for the update to reflect in our system.  If it has been longer than this and you are concerned, please contact the Membership Director.

Q:  Do I need to complete a waiver and how long is it good for?

A:  We ask all members to complete a signed waiver.  Waivers are good for the duration of your membership.  If you are an annual member, then you will need to complete a new waiver each year.  If you are a lifetime member, you will only need to complete the waiver once.  This may change if at any time we are required to change the wording on waivers.

Q:  Can I fax in my waiver?
A:  Due to the requirements from our insurance company, it is necessary to mail in the original waiver.  We can not accept a fax.  Mail waivers to the current UPA address at the bottom of the waiver.

Q:  I have had an injury and won’t be playing for the remainder of the year.  What is your refund policy regarding membership payments?
A:  UPA membership is not refundable. The membership services will be effective to the end of the annual payment period.  Please review the membership information and form carefully.

Q:  How come I haven’t received a UPA magazine in a while?
A:  Issues are mailed 4 times a year in March, July, October, and December.  As a non-profit organization the UPA sends magazines bulk mail with a non-profit status.  This means it may take a little longer than first class mail to arrive.  This also means that mail is not forwarded, so it is important to keep your contact information updated.  Finally, the magazine is only mailed to subscribers and current members.  Please make sure you have updated your UPA membership dues to continue receiving the UPA magazine.

Q:  How can I get a back issue of the magazine?
A:  Remaining issues of the magazine are sent to Wright Life.  You may visit them to order back issues of the magazine.

A: Please check the current edition of the UPA College Eligibility Rules http://www.upa.org/college/elg_rules.shtml to determine how membership and/or participation in the UPA or UPA events affects eligibility for the UPA College Series.
