The Program The UPA’s Coaching Certification Program, presented by Five Ultimate, is back in 2010 with Five Ultimate as its returning title sponsor. Since 2004 the UPA has run over 90 workshops throughout the country and certified over 1100 coaches. We continue to receive positive reviews on both the clinic as well as the instructors. Beginning in 2009, we restructured the Level I clinic into two workshops, one focused on coaching ethics and the other on coaching performance.
The Five Ultimate - UPA Coaching Corps is a process of educating coaches, professionalizing and growing the vocation of coaching, and creating a pool of qualified volunteers to help grow Ultimate. The Level I program consists of
two workshops where coaches will learn skills and techniques to: introduce Ultimate and its skills to new players; manage effective practices; teach and maintain Spirit of the Game; interact with and utilize parents; improve the fitness of their team; maintain high professional coaching standards; and behave both ethically and legally while coaching.
Over 2005 and 2006 the UPA developed a
Level II Coaching Workshop to help coaches bring their teams to the next level by teaching advanced strategies. and tactics These clinics are two days and cover many strategies and techniques of top level teams.

UPA Certified Coaches must be at least 21 years old. If you are below the age limit, you may attend the clinics but will not receive certification (e.g. for college and high school captains)
Cost:
UPA Coaching Ethics Workshop: $45 + UPA Membership
UPA Coaching Ethics & Performance Workshops: $75 + UPA Membership
UPA Level II Advanced Strategies & Tactics: $150 + UPA Membership (must be a current Level I certified coach to receive certification. Workshop is now also open to coaches without Level Certification who wish to audit the course but not receive certification.)
